The Challenge


As the market leader with millions of visitors each month in a highly competitive industry, realestate.com.au is aware of the need for ongoing product and marketing innovation to cement their number one position.

Regular promotions and competitions – online and offline – are an important part of this marketing mix and multiple projects are run each year.

With an ongoing requirement to develop, host and manage online promotions and prize draws, realestate.com.au decided that an outsourced software solution would be most effective.

They identified a number of specific requirements for such a solution

  • Promotions that were quick and easy for site visitors to enter
  • A system that could scale up to cope with thousands of entries
  • The ability to integrate seamlessly with their website
  • An end-to-end solution from landing pages to automatically drawing winner
 

The Solution

 

Since being engaged as a technology partner, WebMart has successfully supported dozens of high-profile promotions and competitions using PUBLICeye®, their end-to-end solution for running promotions, competitions and random prize draws online.

For example in the HSBC “Renovation Rescue” competition, participants were asked to upload a photo of their home along with a description of why they needed to win a free renovation. This image uploading and storage database was provided and hosted in the back-end by PUBLICeye®, yet users enjoyed a seamless experience as the application was integrated within the realestate.com.au site – users had no indication that they were using an external application.

A joint promotion with Mission Australia, “Houses For The Homeless”, enabled customers to click a button to instantly contribute a dollar towards helping the homeless. An automated feed was embedded in the site that tallied the dollars contributed in real-time. This feature created buzz and excitement and the promotion was a huge success.

Competitions are custom-designed to implement the creative developed by the creative agencies and are integrated seamlessly with realestate.com.au. The realholidays.com.au “Road Trip Stories” promotion invited people to submit their real Aussie road trip stories for a chance to win 4 days in an Audi A6 and incorporated animated flash creative embedded on the site.

The Results


“WebMart’s service and technical skills are excellent. When needed, they’ll liaise with our internal technical teams to deliver an effective solution,” says Louisa Shillingford-Brown.

Working closely with the realestate.com.au marketing and internal technical teams and external creative agencies, WebMart is responsible for managing the platform that delivers the online elements of these campaigns. WebMart hosts and maintains all the software.
